​Dr. Eric began his journey in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in 2009, guided by his belief in the concept of One Medicine—that all systems of medicine share a common origin and can be thoughtfully integrated to support healing. His academic background began with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science (Biomedicine) from Buffalo, New York.

After being introduced to TCM theory in 2009, Dr. Eric developed a deep passion for the medicine and committed himself fully to its study. He spent seven years in China, earning a Bachelor of Medicine in Chinese Medicine from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. During this time, he passed the Chinese medical board examination and completed extensive clinical internships at multiple TCM hospitals, training under physicians across a wide range of specialties.

Dr. Eric is comprehensively trained in Chinese Medicine and places strong emphasis on classical texts and the diverse schools of thought passed down through generations of respected TCM physicians. Traditional Chinese Medicine is not only his profession but also his lifelong passion. Outside of clinic hours, he continues to study classical literature, teach, and thoughtfully integrate modern biomedical research into his clinical practice.

In addition to his training in China, Dr. Eric holds a Master of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA) at MCPHS University. He is certified in Clean Needle Technique by the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (CCAHM) and is a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

With extensive education and clinical experience in both the United States and China, Dr. Eric brings a deep understanding of both Eastern and Western medical philosophies. In 2025, he founded OBEN ONE Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, with the goal of offering an integrative, ethical, accessible, and environmentally conscious approach to care.

The clinic’s mission is to promote and preserve Traditional Chinese Medicine, uphold ethical practice, strengthen the profession, and build meaningful collaboration within the TCM community. Above all, Dr. Eric is dedicated to helping people heal while preserving Chinese medicine and the environment for future generations.​
